Meet Scotch Finger, a 5-year-old Greyhound with a big heart, long legs, and an even bigger love for people. This handsome boy is affectionate, social, and happiest when he’s getting pats from anyone willing to offer them. Neighbours, visitors, delivery drivers — in Scotch Finger’s world, everyone is a friend… and everyone he meets falls in love with him.
For any Simpsons lovers, you might notice he’s a dead ringer for Santa’s Little Helper.
He has been tested with children and other greyhounds and did beautifully. He is gentle, polite, and very people-focused.
While in care, Scotch Finger had a fright after being attacked by another dog, so he can be a little timid around new dogs at first. With slow, gentle introductions, he settles well, but he will need a home without small dogs or cats.
He absolutely loves getting out and about and is a big fan of car rides — hopping in happily, stretching out, and travelling like a pro. Even better, he walks beautifully on a lead and is an absolute pleasure to take out and about.
At home, he’s a classic greyhound — often found snoozing on his side or back with his legs in the air, completely relaxed and content. He’s more than happy with a couple of gentle daily walks, followed by plenty of rest and couch time.
Scotch Finger is very people-friendly and comfortable around men, busy households, and everyday noises like traffic or construction. While he does enjoy human company, he has also shown he can be left for longer periods (including full days) outside and has been perfectly fine. He may still be a little clingy when his carers return — which just shows how much he loves his people.
Like many dogs, he can be a little cheeky, but he hasn’t taken or stolen anything for quite some time now. He is also a big foodie — very food-motivated and eager to learn, which will make ongoing training a breeze, but will require some continued guidance.
