Happy tails of adoption

  • Roxy

I have recently been approved as a dog foster carer with MPDR Inc and have been very impressed with the level of care and attention they all give to the newbie’s.

I was made to feel very welcome and received lots of assistance and tips from the MPDRI team as well as food and equipment. I was lucky enough to foster the beautiful Roxy and have fallen in love with her so she has found her forever home with me. The whole process has been an absolute joy and I’m looking forward to to fostering more dogs when I’m needed, as long as Roxy doesn’t mind of course!!!

Be a foster carer or adopt a dog and add some joy and meaning to your day 😊

  • Rusty

We were without a dog for 6 years, the idea to go to MPDRI was the smartest decision for us, to have made. We saw Rusty on the Facebook page and instantly decided he was the one we needed.

The foster adopt is in my opinion, the only way to get a new Fur friend. We could see first hand what we were making a commitment too and also Rusty could connect with us. Which he has done thankfully.

Dog walking has become a daily exercise, good for Rusty and good for us. It feels now that he has been a part of our life forever. Rusty likes to travel in the car, so our next adventure is travelling in the caravan.

  • Wynston

Our pets mean everything to us. When we lost our rescue dog Gus after 14 wonderful years, he left a big hole in our hearts… We adopted beautiful Wynston through the MPDRI’s ‘foster to adopt’ scheme and have had such a positive experience.

Erin and the team made the process so seamless and have provided extensive support through Wynston’s transition. Today, not only do we have a ‘labradorable’ addition to our family, but a happy healthy pup who knows he has found his forever home.

He loves the beach, playing with his toys and socialising with as many dogs as he can possibly find! We love him to bits. Adopting is the only way to go!

  • Beetle

Adopting Beetle has been an amazing and rewarding experience. Taking Beetle in as a “foster to adopt”, meant we had the opportunity to work with him from the moment he was transported from the pound.

We gently increased his confidence, in particular around other dogs, and showed him that there is nothing he needs to worry about anymore.

He has settled in perfectly as a family dog, having kids and other pets to engage with. It’s clear that this is the life he always needed.

He has become nothing short of a happy-go lucky, carefree and forever smiley guy.

The support we have received from the rescue along the way has been invaluable. We’ve learnt a lot and were provided with everything we needed to get Beetle settled into his new home. The skills and knowledge when applied, work like magic and we’re forever grateful for this.

We couldn’t thank MPDRI enough for giving us this amazing gift of not only a dear companion, but the chance to make a real difference in a rescue dog’s life.

  • Bolt

The first time we saw Bolt’s adoption post we fell in love. when we got the call we were accepted we couldn’t believe the wonderful people at MPDRI chose us.

With very limited background on Bolt’s life before, it has been a very interesting journey learning about all bolts quirks, likes and dislikes and his all around awesome, chilled out personality.

The whole experience has been amazing, we were kept well informed during the whole process including his transport, vet check when he arrive, adorable photos and videos of Bolt before he came to us and everything in between. He was a-bit timid at first but settled in to his forever home very quickly with such great advise from the MPDRI team. (can’t thank you all enough)

We were so grateful for the amazing generosity of the rescue for the amazing things we were given to help with bolts transition, they are very open and happy to help with any concerns or questions we had :)

  • Rocket

Last Year, I decided I would adopt a Rescue Dog. I looked at the photo and Bio of Rocket.

He was just what our older son Sebastion needed, as well as us.

We went to visit the Foster Carer, for a meet and greet. Rocket had lots of energy, was a sweet natured boy.

We all fell in love with him from the very first meet and greet. Rocket was, very easy to train, he has a very sweet affectionate nature.

He has made our family have lots of adventures in the outdoors. He has responded well to the tips MPDRI team gave us on training and he picks up new techniques easily

Mornington Peninsula Dog Rescue Incorporated, thank-you for making our heats sing with our gorgeous Rocket.

The entire process was made easy with all the members of your Dog Rescue. I recommend to anyone, that is looking to adopt or Foster a Dog with this Rescue, to take a chance. You won't regret it.

  • Nala & Uther

    Nala & Uther

Thank you Mornington Peninsula Dog Rescue for completing our family 💞. Your foster-to-adopt program gave us the opportunity to help find the perfect fit.

Our American Staffy Nala was first to enter our home and win our hearts followed by Great Dane Uther. They both settled into our home very well and were both perfect for our lifestyle and family. My husband, children and I adore them with all our hearts and as you can see, they have also become inseparable besties with each other.

So grateful to have had the opportunity and found the rescue committee very easy and respectful to work with. Bless you all for what you do to give these dogs the best opportunity at life. 🐕 🐕 💗

  • Lana

    Lana

Being a person that has always been a huge believer of rescuing an animal rather than buying from a breeder, I have found a group that has the same beliefs and values, who go above and beyond in making a change to those doggos that need our help.

I have adopted and fostered dogs through MPDR and the unknowns that sometimes come with fostering a rescue dog are well understood, the support from MPDR is 24/7 and every concern, question and query I have had throughout the foster process has been positively supported.

I have found my new best friend through the MPDR group, and would urge anyone that is thinking about fostering or adopting a rescue dog, to give it a go, with this bunch of ladies’ support, combined with saving a life......well, it's a life changer.

  • Luna

    Luna

A special thank you and around of applause for an amazing group, doing amazing things. A group that truly cares for the dogs they are rehoming, ensuring that both the fur baby and people are the perfect match.

The foster-to-adopt program has brought us so much joy, having previously lost our dog. Luna has fit right in with our family, as if she was our biological dog.

    Thanks again, The Mauger Family.

  • Busta

    Busta

We have been so blessed to work with the special people of MPDRI when we fostered to adopt our beautiful Busta boy.

We had very high criteria to fit our family and the caring team helped us every step of the way making sure we were also the right fit for Busta.

We have now had Busta being part of our family for 5 months and he couldn’t be more perfect for us. This crazy, loving, gentle, cuddle bunny, goofball has given us a new lease on life.

We love that MPDRI made sure both rescue dog and new family were a good fit.

Keep up the good work team. Leah & Busta
