Rocky Road is a loving, 5-year-old Kelpie x Bull Arab with a heart the size of Australia. A delightful contradiction of lightning-fast zoomies and laid-back cuddles, Rocky is as happy chasing squishy balls as he is curling up on the couch for a midday nap while you work.
If you’re searching for a sensitive soul with a bottomless well of affection, Rocky Road might be your match made in mutt heaven. He thrives when he’s with his people — ready to play, cuddle, and supervise with unwavering devotion. Whether it’s a stroll packed with sniff stops, a scooter dash, or a backyard ball session (you’ll want to bring two — he’s a bit possessive of the first), Rocky is all in.
A born vocalist, Rocky proudly greets his family with exuberant “woo woo woos” and tail-wagging excitement. He’ll bark when someone comes to the door, but quickly flips the switch to charming host, soaking up back scratches and attention with relish.
Rocky prefers to be your one and only. While he gets along with many dogs (though occasionally needs a noisy introduction), he seems more comfortable socialising off lead and may be selective on it.
He’s best suited to a home where someone is around most of the time, with indoor and outdoor access. Rocky wants to be part of everything. He craves consistent boundaries, responds well to gentle guidance, and is building confidence every day. He’s smart, fully toilet trained, understands basic commands, and walks well on a front-connecting harness.
That said, Rocky Road is currently working through some lead reactivity — nothing extreme, but something his carers are supporting with patience and consistent training. With the right person who can offer guidance and empathy, he’ll continue to make great progress.
Rocky is also a certified food lover and a cheeky counter-surfer if given the chance! He has previously lived happily with a child and brings warmth and loyalty wherever he goes.
