URGENT FOSTER / FOSTER TO ADOPT NEEDED – “HOP GOODENIA” (AKA FENNEC)
We urgently need a foster or foster-to-adopt home for Hop Goodenia, affectionately known as Fennec.
Hop Goodenia was adopted from us two years ago; however, due to very unfortunate circumstances, he is sadly being surrendered back into our care, and we now need a safe place for him to land.
Hop Goodenia is a 2-year-old Kelpie mix who is fully vetted and ready to start his next chapter. He’s a smart, loyal boy who learns quickly and loves being around his people. Hop Goodenia enjoys having company and will happily follow you from room to room just to be close by. His current family say he’s the ultimate shadow dog — even waiting patiently nearby while you shower!
Hop Goodenia has plenty of Kelpie energy and enjoys a good run, but he’s just as happy to spend quiet days curled up on the couch snoozing with his humans. Belly rubs are high on his list of favourite things, along with little slices of cheese and even getting rolled with the sticky lint roller — which he patiently waits his turn for with the happiest face.
Hop Goodenia would be best suited to a home without young children or men wearing high-vis clothing. He would likely do well with another dog after slow introductions, as companionship can be really beneficial for him. He has also been cat-friendly.
Like many intelligent dogs, Hop Goodenia can get bored if under-stimulated and has previously enjoyed chewing plastic or wood, but this has been well managed with enrichment such as his favourite bacon-flavoured chew toy.
Hop Goodenia would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time, who can give him the love, structure, and companionship he enjoys.
