AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION – Scooby

Our beautiful Scooby is still searching for his forever home—and heartbreakingly, he has not received a single application.

We cannot understand why nobody has chosen this affectionate, wonderfully goofy boy. Scooby has so much love to give and would absolutely adore finally finding a family to call his own.

At only one year old, Scooby is a Great Dane mix with an enormous personality, an enthusiastic tail and a heart overflowing with love. He has absolutely no understanding of personal space—once he loves you, he will happily become your very large and loyal shadow!

Scooby adores playing with his foster brother, Teddy, and would love a home with a friendly, playful dog to keep him company and help build his confidence. He has also spent time with a tiny dog and was absolutely fine.

Although he becomes very excited when he sees other dogs on walks, it is simply because he desperately wants to play. Asking him to sit and giving him a moment to settle works beautifully.

Scooby’s ideal home will offer:

A friendly and playful canine companion

A secure yard and spacious, open-plan indoor areas

A family who is home more often than not

Older children only due to his size and enthusiasm

A cosy bed in his family’s bedroom

A home where he will be left safely indoors when alone

Scooby can be left inside with his canine companion, but he does experience some anxiety. His ideal family will be home most of the time and willing to help him continue building his confidence.

He must be left indoors whenever nobody is home, removing any temptation for this long-legged lad to explore beyond the fence.

Scooby has not been formally tested with cats. However, when a cat entered his foster carer’s yard, he showed no interest. Any introduction to a resident cat would still need to be slow, careful and properly supervised.

On walks, Scooby may pull initially while his excitement bubbles over, but he settles once he gets going. His confidence in the car has also improved enormously. He now jumps straight in and has enjoyed several drives of around 1.5 hours, particularly with Teddy beside him for reassurance.

Scooby is extremely food-motivated and considers unattended containers, scraps and even the rubbish bin to be exciting puzzles created especially for him. His new family will need to keep food safely tucked away because this clever boy has already figured out how to open the bin!

Because of his magnificent “happy tail,” Scooby needs a spacious home where he can wag freely without accidentally redecorating the room.

Scooby is affectionate, playful, wonderfully silly and so deserving of a family to call his own. He isn’t asking for much—just companionship, patience, a little room to wag and someone who will love him as deeply as he will love them.

He has waited so patiently, but not one application has arrived for him. Scooby would love nothing more than to finally meet the family who will give him the security, adventures and unconditional love he deserves.

Please don’t let this beautiful boy continue to be overlooked. Somewhere out there is a family looking for a loyal best friend who will fill their home with laughter, cuddles and the occasional bin-related mystery.

Could Scooby be the missing piece in your family?
