Introducing Desdemona, but you can call her Marley. She’s a gorgeous, 7-year-old pure Meat Mouth Sharpei. She doesn’t come with papers, but apparently she did have them.
A little about this sweety. Desdemona was owned and very neglected for seven years, along with her brother Benvolio (also in care). Their owner passed away suddenly, and they were surrendered to MPDRI care.
After 2 months in care, her skin has improved, but her hearing has sadly been compromised due to long-term chronic ear infections.
She does have slight eye entropion; however, due to her other health conditions, it could be dangerous to put her under general anaesthesia.
The vets believe she may suffer from Chronic Kidney Disease, causing renal issues. MPDR can not be given a life expectancy. With proper management of diet, ample water and blood tests, she may live a few happy, fun-filled years or months.
As to her personality, Desdemona has become a playful goofball! If you love Sharpeis and their affection for owners, but wariness of strangers, you will love this girl!
She gets super excited and leaps around in the air when she thinks she might go for a walk. She loves to snuggle with her toys and carry them around.
Desdemona is dog-friendly and, with more exposure, would love to play with other dogs. She hasn’t yet met a cat.
If you are a Sharpei fancier and would love to give the retirement years to a truly deserving girl, then Desdemona is the one for you.
Desdemona will require ongoing veterinary costs for the remainder of her life, and these must be taken into consideration.
