Boof is not your average dog… he’s a thinker, a worker, a dog with purpose running through his veins. And right now, he needs the right person to step up for him.

This incredibly clever boy is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can thrive, not just exist.

Boof is a highly intelligent, driven cattle dog mix who absolutely shines when he has a job to do. He isn’t a couch potato, and he’s not a snuggle bug — he’s the kind of dog who wants to work, learn, and engage.

He would be perfectly suited to:

  • A farm or acreage home

  • An active lifestyle

  • Someone interested in agility, training, or working dogs

Boof is:

  • Dog friendly

  • Cat friendly

  • Toilet trained

  • Walks beautifully on lead

  • Extremely responsive and eager to learn

  • Good with males (can just be a little anxious in vet settings)

  • Likely to do well with livestock/chickens

He is best suited to a home with teenage children (13+), as he prefers a calmer, more predictable environment.

A Brilliant Mind in Motion

Boof is exceptionally trained and absolutely thrives on learning. His list of commands is seriously impressive:

  • Sit, Sit Pretty & Dance

  • Drop, Roll Over & Crawl (still mastering!)

  • Spin & “Otherway”

  • High Five & High Ten

  • Shake (both paws)

  • Bang (play dead)

  • Stick ‘em up

  • Weave, Around & Middle

  • Place (including muzzle training!)

…and honestly, if you can think of it — Boof can probably learn it.

This boy lives for training and mental stimulation, especially when treats are involved.

What Boof Needs

Boof isn’t a “love me all day” type of dog — and that’s okay. He shows his love differently.

He needs:

  • A confident, experienced handler

  • Structure, routine, and purpose

  • Someone committed to continuing his training

Boof can be a little anxious in certain situations — particularly at the vet — and he is also wary of things like brooms and vacuums, so he will need someone patient who can help build his confidence.

Why He Needs You

Dogs like Boof are so often misunderstood… but in the right home, they are nothing short of extraordinary.

He doesn’t need constant affection — he needs understanding.

He doesn’t need to be babied — he needs a job, a leader, a teammate.

And when you give him that?

You’ll have one of the most loyal, capable companions you could ever ask for.

Can you be Boof’s person?

If you have the lifestyle, experience, and heart to give this incredible boy what he needs, please reach out.

Fostering saves lives — and for Boof, it could change everything.
